German backpacker rescued after about 11 days in Australia 'distressed' and 'dehydrated'

SYDNEY: A 26-year-old German backpacker who spent around 11 days lost in the remote western Australian outback was distressed, dehydrated and exhausted when she was found, police said on Saturday (July 12).

Carolina Wilga was discovered on Friday, some 20 kilometres from the nearest track, after she flagged down a passing motorist in a remote area of Western Australia.
