HANOI: Vietnam's national election council convened its first meeting on Wednesday (July 9) to begin preparations for the country's upcoming general election, Vietnam News Agency reported.

The election, scheduled for March 15, 2026, will elect deputies to the 16th National Assembly and people's councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term.
