Apartment block fire in HCMC kills eight


A blaze that had torn through an apartment block in Vietnam’s southern business hub of Ho Chi Minh City has killed eight people, including two children, local authorities said.

The fire was sparked shortly after 10pm on Sunday on the ground floor of the five-storey Doc Lap apartment complex on Do Doc Long Street, which quickly spread and trapped residents inside.
