China says it hopes Thailand will maintain 'stability'

BEIJING: China hopes Thailand will maintain "stability", a spokesperson at the Chinese foreign ministry said on Tuesday (July 1), after a Thai court suspended Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra from duty.

"This is an internal affair of Thailand's, and I will not comment on it, but as a friendly neighbour, we hope that Thailand will maintain stability and development," the spokesperson, Mao Ning (pic), said at a regular press conference. - Reuters
