Chemical factory blast kills eight workers in southern India; at least another 20 workers badly injured

NEW DELHI (Bernama): An explosion killed at least eight workers at a chemical plant in the southern Indian state of Telangana on Monday.

Many were also seriously injured in the blast in a reactor of the Sigachi Chemical Industry facility at Pashamylaram in the Sangareddy district, about 45 kilometres from Hyderabad, according to local media reports.

The reported death toll was at least eight people, while the number of injured was more than 20.

"The explosion blew up the industrial shed completely," a police official was quoted as saying.
