VIENTIANE: Laos' Ministry of Education and Sports is working to strengthen coordination and monitoring within the education sector and among its partners to enhance the quality of teacher education, training and professional development at all levels.
According to a report released by the ministry on Tuesday (June 24), representatives from the ministry's Teacher Education Department and key stakeholders discussed progress on the Teacher Education Action Plan 2025, inclusive education equity, the integration of gender equality into teacher education, and efforts to strengthen continuous professional development for primary school principals and teachers.
The ministry emphasised the importance of strengthening planning, monitoring and coordination among departments and development partners to efficiently develop and implement policies and programmes that enhance teacher education, training and professional development across all education levels.
The National Assembly of Laos was reviewing a new draft law on general education aimed at improving the quality, accessibility and governance of education throughout the country.
