TEHRAN: Iran's Revolutionary Guards on Sunday (June 15) announced the deaths of six additional generals, raising the total number of senior officers killed in Israel's military campaign to at least 14.

Among the dead are prominent figures such as Revolutionary Guards commander-in-chief Hossein Salami and chief of staff Mohammad Bagheri.

The casualties come amid three days of Israeli airstrikes targeting a range of Iranian sites, including nuclear facilities, military leaders, defence installations, cities and oil sites.

Iran has condemned the strikes as a declaration of war, responding with hundreds of missile and drone attacks on Israeli territory.

A funeral for Salami, Bagheri and other fallen commanders is expected to be held Tuesday, according to the Tasnim news agency, a media outlet closely aligned with the Revolutionary Guard Corps. - dpa
