Karnataka government appoints Bengaluru Urban Deputy Commissioner to probe stampede incident

BENGALURU, (India): The Congress-led Karnataka government has issued an order appointing senior IAS officer G. Jagadeesha, the Bengaluru Urban Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate, as the enquiry officer to probe the stampede incident near the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, officials said.

The incident which took place on Wednesday (June 4) resulted in at least 11 deaths and more than 40 injuries.
