Thai King and Queen officiate Thailand’s first royally-sponsored equal marriage


BANGKOK: The Thai King and Queen officiated a royally-sponsored wedding ceremony for two same-sex couples — Kampol Wongnaree and Nutthabhum Taenseesang at Amphorn Sathan Throne Hall, Dusit Palace on May 19, 2025.

The landmark event represents the first-ever royally-sponsored wedding granted by the King to members of the LGBTQIA+ community in Thai history.
