SEOUL: The plan to unify the candidacies of conservative People Power Party presidential candidate Kim Moon-soo and former Prime Minister Han Duck-soo faces a rocky road, with signs of discord observed between ruling party leadership and the ex-labour minister over the details of the potential merger.

The ruling party leadership and several heavyweights, in recent days, have pressured Kim to swiftly unify his candidacy with that of Han, who resigned as acting president and prime minister last week to declare his presidential bid.
