BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (Borneo Bulletin/ANN): Brunei has entered the inter-monsoon period, marking the transition between the northeast monsoon and the upcoming southwest monsoon, said the Brunei Darussalam Meteorological Department in a statement.

The inter-monsoon period, expected to last until the end of May, will see the absence of dominant monsoonal wind flow, allowing local wind effects to significantly influence daily weather patterns.

Climatological records show that the frequency of thunderstorm occurrences is higher this period compared to other months of the year.

On average, April sees 16 days of rain, while May typically records 18 rainy days.

The Sultanate normally experiences fair weather in the morning, with isolated coastal showers developing around midday.

Thunderstorms will form over the inland during the afternoon, which may spread across the coastal and sea areas at night and may persist into the early morning of the following day; light winds blowing from variable directions during the morning and night with winds shifting to northwesterly directions in the afternoon.

The wave condition at sea is generally at slight state. - Borneo Bulletin/ANN
