HANOI: A photo exhibition on "Asean Countries and People” is scheduled to take place in May 2025 as part of the Lang Sen Festival, marking the 135th birth anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam News Agency (VNA) reported.

According to Vietnam’s Culture, Sports and Tourism Ministry, the exhibition is expected to add a meaningful artistic event to the Lang Sen Festival. It is also hoped to enhance cultural exchanges and provide an opportunity for art enthusiasts to appreciate outstanding photographic works by photographers from Asean countries.

Over the years, the Department of Fine Arts, Photography, and Exhibition has successfully organised numerous national and international photography competitions, festivals, and exhibitions.

The department has also played a key role in bringing fine arts and photography exhibitions to Nghe An as part of the Lang Sen Festival.

In 2025, Nghe An province seeks to host a regional-scale exhibition to further enrich the festival’s programme, facilitate international exchanges for local artists, and promote the cultural and human values of the province to domestic and international audiences.

The exhibition is intended as a tribute to President Ho Chi Minh, a national liberation hero and eminent cultural figure, on the occasion of his 135th birth anniversary.

It is expected to contribute to the festival’s appeal, attract visitors to Nghe An, and showcase the province’s cultural heritage while simultaneously highlighting the diverse landscapes and people of member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean).

The event is planned to take place at the Nghe An provincial Museum, featuring approximately 200 selected photographs by photographers from Vietnam and other Asean countries. The exhibition is scheduled to run for ten days, from May 10 to 20, 2025.

After the exhibition, displayed photos will be handed over to the provincial museum for continued public exhibition during the province's cultural and political activities. - Bernama/VNA
