BANGKOK: Thailand's Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra (pic) has ordered a study on the potential impact of US trade policy on Thai exports, an official said on Tuesday (Feb 11), underlining concerns that its trade surplus with Washington could become an issue.
Thailand had a surplus last year of US$35.4 billion with the United States, according to the commerce ministry, which has cited challenges to growing exports, a key driver of Thailand's economy, due to President Donald Trump's uncertain trade policies.
