Brunei Sultan grants audience to Myanmar Deputy Prime Minister

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: The Sultan of Brunei, Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, yesterday afternoon (Jan 23) received in audience Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs of Myanmar U Than Swe, who is in the Sultanate on a two-day official visit.

During the audience ceremony, the Sultan and the deputy prime minister discussed bilateral relations, as well as regional and international issues of mutual concern, including the developments in Asean and developments in Myanmar on the implementation of the Five-Point Consensus, agreed during the Asean Leaders’ Meeting in Jakarta on April 24, 2021.

Accompanying the deputy prime minister were Director-General of Planning and Administrative Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Myanmar Myint Naing Oo and Chargé d’Affaires at the Embassy of Myanmar to Brunei Darussalam Daw Khin Sandar. Also present during the audience ceremony was Minister of Foreign Affairs II Dato Seri Setia Erywan Datu Mohd Yusof. The audience ceremony took place at Istana Nurul Iman. - Borneo Bulletin/ANN
