MANILA: The first ever Waterbomb music festival will be held in the Philippines next month, with 30 of the biggest names in K-pop and K-hip-hop.

Manila is one of three stops the Waterbomb festival will be making outside Korea this year. The festival runs on Feb. 22 and 23 at the Quirino Grandstand in Manila.

Guest artists are divided into teams—yellow and blue for the Manila leg of the festival. Like Korea’s own Waterbomb, audiences can expect the best K-pop, hip-hop and electronic dance music hits performed live, along with various water-based activities including water gun fights.

Iconic hip-hop trio Epik High, EXO rapper Chanyeol and Mamamoo’s Hwasa will be among the artists opening the festival. Meanwhile, 2000s icon Hyolyn, Waterbomb regular Jessi, and GOT7’s Bambam are slated for the festival’s last day.

K-pop fourth generation girl groups Stayc and Viviz will also be performing at the festival.

Tickets go on sale on Jan 22. - Philippine Daily Inquirer/ANN
