Over 34,000 local, foreign visitors visit Myanmar's Bagan Archaeological Museum

YANGON: Myanmar's Bagan Archaeological Museum has welcomed over 34,000 visitors from April 1 to Nov 30 of the 2024-25 fiscal year, Win Pa Pa Maw, assistant director of the Department of Archaeology and National Museum told Xinhua on Wednesday (Dec 11).

Among these visitors, 34,375 were local and 251 were international, with the majority of foreign visitors coming from China, Thailand and Russia, she said.

The museum offers a valuable opportunity to learn about Myanmar's rich ancient culture and traditions in one place, she said.

In the previous fiscal year, the museum saw over 90,000 local and international visitors, she added.

There are 29 national museums under the Department of Archaeology and National Museum.

Among these museums, the National Museum of Myanmar (Yangon), the National Museum of Myanmar (Naypyidaw), the Bagan Archaeological Museum, and the Mandalay Cultural Museum have attracted the most visitors, according to the department. - Xinhua
