Seven killed, dozens injured as public transport bus goes out of control in India's Mumbai


NEW DELHI (Bernama): At least seven people were killed and dozens injured after a bus crashed into pedestrians and vehicles in a busy area in India's financial capital Mumbai on Monday evening.

Police detained the bus driver on charges of culpable homicide, according to local media reports on Tuesday.

The driver was apparently "uncomfortable" with the automatic transmission of the electric vehicle belonging to the city's public transport service.

There was panic as the bus rammed into cars, auto rickshaws and pedestrians, before finally coming to a halt after crashing into a residential building complex. - Bernama
