BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: A 46-year-old local man was sentenced to 20 months’ imprisonment by the Magistrate’s Court on Thursday (Dec 5), after pleading guilty to stealing various items from a house in Kampong Delima Satu.

Magistrate Syarifah Nur Baqiyah Malai Shahran presided over the case, in which Hadiman Ahad admitted to entering the unoccupied property on November 30.

He stole items including an air conditioner compressor, tools, metal items, and household appliances.

According to Deputy Public Prosecutor Abdul Musawwir bin Haji Awang Mahli, the theft occurred around 6.20am.

Hadiman was caught at the scene after a neighbour alerted the property owner.

The police arrested him and an accomplice shortly after.

Investigations revealed Hadiman had contacted a friend to assist with transporting the stolen goods.

CCTV footage confirmed his actions, and all items were recovered.

The court noted Hadiman’s extensive criminal history, including previous convictions for property offences dating back to 1996. - Borneo Bulletin/ANN
