Brunei Sultan receives Vietnam official

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: His Majesty Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, on Saturday (Aug 10) received in audience Vice-President of the National Assembly of Vietnam Nguyen Khac Dinh, who is in the Sultanate on a two-day working visit.

During the audience ceremony at Istana Nurul Iman, His Majesty and Nguyen Khac Dinh discussed ways to further strengthen bilateral relations between Brunei Darussalam and Vietnam, including bilateral cooperation between the Legislative Council of Brunei Darussalam and the National Assembly of Vietnam, as well as in priority areas highlighted under the plan of action for the Implementation of the Comprehensive Partnership between Brunei Darussalam and Vietnam (2023-2027).

In addition, His Majesty and Nguyen Khac Dinh exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual importance.

Accompanying the Vice-President of the National Assembly of Vietnam were Ambassador of Vietnam to Brunei Darussalam Tran Anh Vu; member of the Party Central Committee and Chairman of the Legal Affairs Committee of the National Assembly of Vietnam Hoang Thanh Tung; member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of Thai Binh Province and Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Thai Binh Province Ngo Dong Hai; and Vice Chairwoman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Assembly of Vietnam Le Thu Ha.

Speaker of the Legislative Council (LegCo) Dato Seri Setia Awang Abdul Rahman Mohamed Taib; Deputy Minister (Civil Service Governance) at the Prime Minister’s Office Datuk Seri Paduka Mohd Riza Mohd Yunos; and Clerk to the Privy Council, Secretary to the Cabinet Ministers’ Council and Clerk to the LegCo Dr Dayang Huraini Awang Hurairah were also present. - Borneo Bulletin/ANN
