China-aided educational materials delivered to Laos

VIENTIANE: A delivery ceremony of teaching materials as part of a China-aided project to improve quality and capabilities of rural teachers in Laos was held in the Lao capital Vientiane on Thursday (Aug 9).

Lao Minister of Education and Sports Phout Simmalavong (pic) and Chinese Ambassador to Laos Fang Hong attended the ceremony.

Speaking at the event, Phout said the project will help improve the overall quality of rural education in Laos, which is of great significance to the development of Lao human resources and solidarity and friendship between Laos and China.

Fang said the teaching materials will help improve basic education in Laos.

China is willing to work with Laos to promote high-quality education cooperation and mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples.

The materials will be distributed to provinces in Laos as reference for training of teachers in the country. - Xinhua/ANN
