BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: His Majesty Sultan Hassanal has called on relevant agencies to streamline processes and facilitate business capital loans to encourage youth entrepreneurship.

The monarch highlighted this during the 19th National Youth Day Celebration on Wednesday (Aug 7) at the Plenary Hall, International Convention Centre (ICC), Berakas.

In the decree, the Sultan underscored the importance of youth as invaluable assets whose performance significantly influences the progress or decline of a nation. The monarch reiterated the phrase ‘Belia Harapan Bangsa’ (youth are the hopes of the nation), emphasising its significance in driving the country’s development.

He expressed a desire to see more youth excel, adapt to changes, and explore new fields within the community.

The Sultan also acknowledged the government’s efforts through various ministries and departments to implement initiatives for sustainable development. He stressed the importance of strong cooperation through a whole-of-nation approach to ensure the successful establishment of an ecosystem conducive to continuous economic growth.

He expressed pleasure in seeing many youths venturing into entrepreneurship and business, urging them to continue competing, exploring new markets, and seizing international opportunities.

The monarch noted that National Youth Day, celebrated every Aug 1, recognises youth’s contributions, sacrifices, achievements, and successes in national development. However, the monarch reminded the youth to maintain their Bruneian identity by adhering to and respecting religious and state laws. – Borneo Bulletin/ANN
