New S$90mil programme to fund more research into hydrogen use, sustainable chemicals

SINGAPORE: To help decarbonise Singapore’s energy and industrial sectors, a S$90 million programme has been launched to further national research into areas such as hydrogen utilisation and production of greener chemicals and fuels, like sustainable aviation fuel.

The Create Thematic Programme in Decarbonisation is a “large-scale but ambitious and synergistic” initiative, said Professor Tan Chorh Chuan, the permanent secretary for national research and development, at the launch on July 22.
