Seven Chinese national detained in Cambodia's Sville with 14kg of drugs and chemicals


PHNOM PENH (Khmer Times): Seven Chinese nationals have been arrested on charges of illegal drug trafficking committed in Phnom Penh, Sihanoukville and in the territory of the Kingdom of Cambodia during the early 2024 until June 3, 2024, offenses punishable under Article 40 and Article 48 of the Law on Drug Control.

The men were charged after illegal drugs weighing more than 3 kg and chemicals weighing more than 11 kg were seized by authorities

According to the press release of Preah Sihanouk Provincial Court, the spokesperson of Preah Sihanouk Provincial Court is honored to inform the public that the Preah Sihanouk Provincial Court has taken action on Criminal Case No. 725 dated June 6, 2024, which has the following defendants:

CHANG JUN YI, a 29-year-old Chinese man, was convicted of trafficking, storing and using drugs illegally in Sangkat 4, Sihanoukville, Preah Sihanouk Province during the early 2024 until May 29. 2024 Offenses punishable under Article 40, paragraph 7, point 4 and article 45 of the Law on Drug Control.

2-MENG XIANG JIANG alias TA JIANG, male, 35 years old, Chinese, charged with trafficking, storing and using illegal drugs in Sangkat 4, Sihanoukville, Preah Sihanouk Province during the early 2024 until May 31, 2024 Offenses punishable under Articles 40, 48 and 45 of the Law on Drug Control.

3-CHEN AN JUN alias AH SHAN or SAN GE, male, 38 years old, Chinese, charged with trafficking, storing and using drugs illegally in Sangkat 4, Sihanoukville, Preah Sihanouk Province during the beginning of 2024. Until May 31, 2024, the offenses are punishable under Articles 48 and 45 of the Law on Drug Control.

CHEN YAN, alias DA YAN, male, 44 years old, Chinese national, charged with trafficking, storing and using drugs illegally in Sangkat 4, Sihanoukville, Preah Sihanouk Province during the early 2024 until the 31st May 2024 Offenses punishable under Article 40, paragraph 5, paragraph 6 and article 45 of the Law on Drug Control.

5-Name: YANG XING, Male, 36 years old, Chinese, on charges of illegal production of drugs and illegal possession of drugs, committed in Sangkat 4, Sihanoukville, Preah Sihanouk Province during the early 2024 until May 31, 2024: Offenses punishable under Article 39, paragraph 5, point 6 and article 40 of the Law on Drug Control.

6-LIU CHEN alias AH DONG, male, 33 years old, Chinese, charged with conspiracy to commit drug trafficking and illegal possession and use of drugs in Sangkat 4, Sihanoukville, Preah Sihanouk Province. Sihanouk from the beginning of 2024 until May 29, 2024, the offenses punishable under Article 29 of the Penal Code and Article 40, paragraph 7, paragraph 4 and Article 45 of the Law on Drug Control.

7-HSU YUNG, Male, 25 years old, Chinese, charged with drug trafficking and illegal possession in Phnom Penh and in the territory of the Kingdom of Cambodia during the early 2024 until June 3. 2024 Offenses punishable under Article 48, paragraph 6, point 1 of the Law on Drug Control.

After questioning the accused and examining the evidence, the investigating judge of the Sihanoukville Provincial Court decided to remand the seven accused in custody to continue the procedural investigation. - Khmer Times
