Laos aims to improve education quality and ensure its graduates well equipped in facing globalised world

VIENTIANE (Xinhua): The National University of Laos (NUOL) is committed to improving program quality, ensuring that graduates are well-equipped to succeed in the globalised world.

According to a report released by the university on Friday, the Faculty of Economics and Business Management at the NUOL hosted a conference to share the outcomes of the recent Asean University Network-Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) program assessment.

The AUN-QA is an international quality assurance framework that helps universities in Southeast Asia enhance their academic programs and internal quality assurance systems.

The faculty's three academic programs, namely Business Management, Commerce, and Development Economics and Planning, successfully met standards set by the AUN-QA, according to the report.

Speaking at the meeting on Wednesday, Vice President of the NUOL Phouphet Kyophilavong, said "With Laos as the Asean chair this year, this is an important milestone for the university that could not have taken place at a better time. Our university is dedicated to improving overall program quality and equipping students with the skills they need to thrive in the fast-changing and globally connected world of today."

The AUN-QA program will continue to play a vital role in fostering regional collaboration and enhancing the quality of higher education within ASEAN. The program will serve as a foundation for NUOL to continue strengthening its international academic distinction. - Xinhua
