Two jailed for violating Passport Act


BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: Two individuals were sentenced to a two-month jail term for violating Chapter 146 of the Passport Act.

Habil Ismail, 51, was sentenced for using someone else’s passport while Isen Husin, a 46-year-old Malaysian, was sentenced for conspiring to help Habil use someone else’s passport.

Immigration and National Registration Department (INRD) prosecuting officer Adi Yusra Adanan prosecuted the case before Magistrate Sharifah Nur Baqiyah Malai Shahran.

The case was discovered following inspections by immigration officers at the Sungai Tujoh Immigration Control Post and were directed to the Law Enforcement Division for further investigation. – Borneo Bulletin/ANN
