Seven people killed in Jakarta's Mampang Prabatan blaze

JAKARTA (Bernama-Antara): The Mampang Prapatan Police in South Jakarta confirmed here on Friday that seven people were killed in a fire on Thursday at around 7.30 pm local time, reported Antara.

The bodies of the seven victims were found inside a room on the shop building's second storey, Mampang Prapatan Police Chief Commissioner David Yunior Kanitero said.

Rescuers retrieved the bodies after firefighters doused the flames that rose from the "Saudara Frame dan Galery" shop in the Mampang Prapatan neighbourhood, he added.

The fire also injured five people, two of whom were admitted to Mampang Prapatan Public Hospital, while three others were sent to Pertamina Central Hospital, David said.
