Gruesome discovery in Phnom Penh: Man stabs woman friend to death and tries to commit suicide


PHNOM PENH: Police are investigating what lead to the stabbing death of a woman in Phnom Penh on late Thursday – with her assailant trying to commit suicide next to her after comitting murder.

The Khmer Times reported that the victim, 24-year-old Meas Leakena, was married to 37-year-old Hua Sin, a Chinese national who works for a stone grinding company in Kampong Speu province.

She was reportedly stabbed several times with a machete by Lim Kineth, 25, of Chak Chrouk village, Sangkat Samrong Krom, Khan Por Sen Chey – who then attempted to commit suicide.

The assailant was then rushed to to the hospital for emergency treatment with serious wounds.

The police force of Po Sen Chey district and the technical and scientific office of the Phnom Penh Municipal Police are now investigating the crime.
