Cadmium poisoning identified in 17 residents near Samut Sakhon factory


BANGKOK: Seventeen of 34 residents around a metal factory in Samut Sakhon province have been admitted to Samut Sakhon hospital to be treated for cadmium exposure, the provincial public health office said on Wednesday (April 17).

Of the patients, five of them have cadmium levels in their urine that are higher than what is considered safe, according to Dr Surawit Sakdanuphab, Samut Sakhon public health chief.
