BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: Local business woman Lili Yong and her two daughters were in Taipei on a holiday when the 7.4-magnitude quake struck the Hualien County in Taiwan on Wednesday (April 3) morning.

“Oh my gosh, it is something I don’t wish upon anyone,” said Yong, who is with her daughters aged 11 and 13, in an online interview from Taipei.

“We were asleep in our hotel room on the sixth floor when suddenly our whole room began shaking violently,” she said.

“All the lights in the room were shaking, our beds were shaking,” she added.

“My children were so scared, we were all scared and didn’t know what to do. There wasn’t any announcement from the hotel. Thankfully it went away after a couple of minutes, but there were some mild aftershocks,” she said.

“We are now feeling better.”
