Hongkongers can expect hot weather in the coming days and next week, with temperatures reaching a maximum of 31 degrees Celsius (87.8 Fahrenheit) between Tuesday and Thursday.
The Hong Kong Observatory said on Tuesday the mercury had risen to 27.8 degrees by 10.50am, with warm weather and cloudy conditions to continue throughout the day.

Winds were moderate to fresh and sometimes strong on high ground, the forecaster said, adding that a southerly airstream would bring hot weather in the next couple of days.
“A trough of low pressure is expected to bring showers and thunderstorms to southern China over the weekend. The northeast monsoon will affect the coastal areas of Guangdong early to midweek next week,” it said.
Temperatures from Tuesday through to Thursday will range between 26 and 31 degrees. A few showers are expected to arrive on Thursday, continuing until next Tuesday.
From Friday to next Wednesday, maximum temperatures will reach between 27 and 30 degrees, with the lowest at 22 to 25 degrees.
Temperature climbs to 31.5 degrees as Hong Kong sweats on record hot March day
Residents last month sweated through the hottest March day since records began in 1884, with the mercury shooting up to 30.3 degrees and over 31 degrees in some areas on March 24.
The forecaster has said 2024 will be yet another sweltering year with potentially more typhoons than normal.
The city’s annual mean temperature was expected to rise above normal, with a high possibility of reaching the top 10 warmest on record, the Observatory said.
Its yearly overview showed that 2023 was the city’s second-warmest on record, after 2021, as the annual mean temperature hit 24.5 degrees.
