16 detained in immigration raids

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: The Immigration and National Registration Department (INRD) conducted two separate operations in Brunei-Muara and Belait districts recently and detained 16 foreigners.

The operation in Brunei-Muara District targeting residences in Mukim Gadong and Mukim Mentiri, rounded up five foreigners for failure to produce valid travel documents and not working according to the registered job description.

The operation in Mukim Liang, Belait District led to the detention of 11 foreign nationals for failure to produce valid travel documents and overstaying after the expiry of immigration passes.
