Cambodia eyes increased Chinese investment: Manet

PHNOM PENH: Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet on Wednesday (March 27) called for more Chinese investment, saying that the kingdom has an open and free foreign investment regime with a pro-investor and pro-business policy.

Hun Manet made it clear during a meeting with a delegation of Chinese enterprises.

He said the South-East Asian country has no restrictions on capital repatriation, according to a news release posted on Telegram.

He said Cambodia still gives priority to investment in the development of key connectivity infrastructure such as expressways and airports, among others, to better connect the kingdom with the region and the world.

The prime minister also thanked and highly valued Chinese firms for investing and doing business in Cambodia, saying that their presence truly reflected their confidence in the leadership of the royal government of Cambodia. - Xinhua
