Singapore-flagged ship that crashed into the Baltimore Bridge in US was manned by Indian crew

NEW DELHI, March 26 (Bernama): The ship that crashed into a landmark bridge near the US city of Baltimore on Tuesday was manned by an all-Indian crew.

The Singapore-flagged ship Dali with a capacity of 10,000 TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent container units) collided with one of the pillars of the Francis Scott Key Bridge, causing the iconic bridge to collapse into the waters of the River Patapsco.

"All crew members, including the two pilots have been accounted for and there are no reports of any injuries. There has also been no pollution," vessel operator Synergy Marine Group said in a statement.

It was carrying 4,679 TEUs and an all-Indian crew of 22, it said.

The vessel, owned by Grace Ocean Private Ltd, was sailing to Colombo. - Bernama
