Myanmar to hold 2024 state and regional wushu competition in Naypyidaw


YANGON: Myanmar's 2024 State and Region Wushu Competition will be held at Wunna Theikdi Stadium in Naypyidaw from March 7 to 11, Swe Swe Thant, general secretary of Myanmar Wushu Federation told Xinhua on Wednesday (March 6).

The five-day competition was jointly organised by the Department of Sports and Physical Education under the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs and the Myanmar Wushu Federation.

A total of 284 wushu athletes, including 163 males and 121 females across Myanmar, will compete in the competition, Swe Swe Thant said.

The purpose of holding the competition is to strengthen the whole nation, bring out a new generation of athletes and improve the wushu sports sector, she added. - Xinhua
