COLOMBO/YANGON (Xinhua): Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe highlighted plans to link the Hambantota port in the country's south to Myanmar, the President's Media Division (PMD) said on Sunday.

The PMD said the president articulated his vision for economic development and infrastructure investment, particularly focusing on the master plans for strategic tourism zones in the Eastern Province, the Colombo City, the Western Region and Greater Hambantota.

The president emphasized the economic potential of Hambantota, envisioning it as a pivotal hub for infrastructure development and connectivity, according to the PMD.
