Two dead and three wounded in a bomb explosion in Thailand's Narathiwat


NARATHIWAT (Bernama): Two defence volunteers were killed and three others injured in a bomb blast incident in Chanae, Narathiwat.

In the incident at 3.35 pm (local time) on Sunday, five of them were on their way to the Mukim Administration Office.

Narathiwat Deputy Chief of Police Col. Pol. Direk Chomyong said when five defence volunteer members arrived at the scene, a homemade bomb weighing 50 kilogrammes was attached to a gas canister and then detonated with a walkie-talkie.

"The powerful explosion injured five defence volunteer members. One died at Naradhiwas Rajanagarindra Hospital yesterday and another died today," he said at a press conference here today.
