Higher education expo to open in February


BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: The Higher Education Expo 2024 will be held for students looking to further their studies domestically where university representatives will receive visitors during the Higher Education Expo 2024 at Bridex Hall, Jerudong from Feb 3-4.

Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) will also hold its open day from Feb 3-4.

Prospective students can drop by the UBD Library from 9am to 5pm.

The UBD Research open day will also be held concurrently.

“UBD stands poised to be a key driver for sustainable development in Brunei in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs). The university is committed to ensuring that staff and students develop the knowledge and habits that promote a sustainable lifestyle,” said the university.

It continued, “UBD continues to make a significant mark on the Sultanate and the world with knowledgeable and skilled graduates as well as impactful research.

“What sets UBD apart is also its accredited programmes. The Bachelor in General Engineering programme achieved the prestigious accreditation by the Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology (ABET), making it the first of its kind in Brunei. Last year, UBD School of Business and Economics (UBD SBE) was awarded the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) Accreditation.”

Individual subjects in UBD have been recognised by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) and the Times Higher Education (THE) University subject rankings.

In the latest QS subject rankings, UBD was placed 301-330 for modern languages.

Meanwhile, in the THE subject rankings, UBD is ranked 301-400 in three subjects: engineering and technology, social sciences, and education.

The university was also placed 501-600 for physical sciences and 401-500 for business and economics. – Borneo Bulletin/ANN
