JAKARTA: Defence Minister and 2024 presidential election frontrunner Prabowo Subianto promoted Medan mayor Bobby Nasution, President Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo’s son-in-law, for the North Sumatra gubernatorial position during a campaign event in the city on Saturday (Jan 13).

“People can protest that [Bobby] is too young [for the post], but as long as the North Sumatra people want him,” Prabowo said at the campaign event, which was attended by the mayor, as well as several political party leaders.
