Brunei man to learn fate for possessing knife and stabbing a person


BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (Borneo Bulletin/ANN): A local Brunei man is set to learn of his fate on Tuesday (January 2, 2024) after he pleaded guilty to charges of stabbing another person, and possessing a weapon in public.

Prosecutor Mohammad Kamal Ariffin Ismail’s charges state that Mas Fadilah Pungut, 38, was in possession of a flip knife, an offensive weapon, in public.

On the same occasion at 4.40pm on December 13, the defendant stabbed a 40-year-old man in the chest at a residential flat in Kampong Belimbing Subok.

Magistrate Abdul ‘Azim bin Othman will consider a punishment of up to 10 years’ jail with a minimum of three whippings next month. – Borneo Bulletin/ANN
