Potential power disruptions over two days in parts of Brunei


BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: The Department of Electrical Services (DES) and Brunei Shell Petroleum Sdn Bhd Company (BSP) on Thursday (Dec 21) issued an update on potential power disruptions for Dec 22 and Dec 223 with expected times for intermittent supply in each area.

The potential electricity supply disruptions are due to restoration works on gas pipeline PID0016 which begin on Dec 22 and are expected to be completed within 24 hours.

In Mukim Gadong, there are potential for electricity supply disruptions today and tomorrow from 10pm to 3am, and tomorrow from 3pm to 9pm in the following areas: commercial and private buildings along Jalan Gadong including One Riverside, Abdul Razak Mall and The Centrepoint; Jalan Pasar Gadong including institutional buildings and SEAMEO Voctech, Gadong fish market, Gadong night market and all nearby commercial buildings; Kampong Batu Bersurat including all commercial buildings; Kampong Pengkalan Gadong; Kampong Menglait; E-Government National Centre, State Store, government flats in Beribi; Kampong Mata-Mata including Scout’s headquarter and all surrounding commercial buildings; Land Transport Department in Beribi; Kampong Perpindahan Mata-Mata; and Kampong Tungku including Narcotics Control Bureau office building, Kampong Perpindahan Tungku and STKRJ Tungku.

Also in Mukim Gadong, there are potential electricity supply disruptions tomorrow from 9am to 3pm in the following areas: IBTE Kampong Tungku; agriculture areas in Kampong Tungku; UNN Tungku Link; Kampong Rimba; Perumahan Negara Rimba; STKRJ Rimba; Dialysis Centre Kampong Rimba; Civil Service Institute Kampong Rimba; Horticulture Kampong Rimba; Armed Forces Reserve Kampong Rimba; Rimba Point commercial building; and Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Arabic School Kampong Rimba.

In Mukim Berakas ‘A’, potential electricity supply disruptions can occur from today and tomorrow from 10pm to 3am as well as tomorrow from 3pm to 9pm in the following areas: Old Airport Berakas including all government department and ministry buildings; all commercial buildings at Kampong Jaya Setia Berakas including The Airport Mall, Times Square, Citis Square and Jaya Setia Square; Kampong Burong Pingai Berakas; Kampong Jaya Bakti Berakas; Paduka Seri Begawan Sultan Science College Jalan Muara; Kampong Anggerek Desa; Kampong Pancha Delima; Kampong Pulaie; Kampong Orang Kaya Besar Imas; Kampong Delima Dua; Kampong Sungai Akar including the Gurkha Reserve Unit and Land Transport Department; and the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports and its surrounding areas.

Also in Mukim Berakas ‘A’, electricity supply disruptions can occur tomorrow from 9am to 3pm in the following areas: Radio Television Brunei Sungai Akar and Internal Security Department Sungai Akar; Sungai Akar Police Academy; pharmacy building Kampong Terunjing; Veterinary Clinic Kampong Terunjing, part of Kampong Terunjing, International School Brunei and One City Shopping Centre at Kampong Sungai Hanching, Kampong Sungai Orok including Mid Valley Shopping Centre; Kampong Salambigar; and Salambigar Industrial Park.

In Mukim Mentiri, potential electrical supply disruptions can occur tomorrow from 9am until 3pm in the following areas: STKRJ Kampong Tanah Jambu; Kampong Tanah Jambu, STKRJ Kampong Sungai Buloh Tanah Jambu; Perpindahan Skim Tanah Kurnia Kampong Tanah Jambu; Kampong Salar; Kampong Salar Industrial area; Kampong Sungai Buloh; Kampong Batu Marang; Perumahan Negara Mengkubau; PWD Water Reservoir Kampong Mengkubau; Perumahan Negara Mentiri; Kampong Mentiri; Civil Service Club Mentiri; Kampong Sungai Besar; Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien (SHOAS) Bridge; Kampong Sungai Bunga; and Kampong Pudak.

In Mukim Serasa, potential electrical supply disruptions can occur tomorrow from noon until 6pm in the following areas: Pekan Muara; Kampong Serasa; Serasa Industrial area; Fisheries Department Serasa; Pulau Muara Besar; Jalan Pelumpong including Muara Health Centre; Royal Brunei Naval Base Muara; Kampong Sabun; Kampong Kapok; Kampong Meragang; Perpindahan Kampong Meragang; Meragang Sixth Form Centre; and BSM Muara Terminal and its surrounding areas.

The public is advised to reduce electricity consumption by adopting energy saving initiatives and to use electricity prudently and efficiently.
