Two Indonesians jailed, fined and caned for overstaying in Brunei

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (Borneo Bulletin/ANN): Two Indonesian nationals were fined and imprisoned for violating immigration acts recently.

Ina Suama, 37, was sentenced for staying in the Sultanate after her immigration pass expired.

She was sentenced to four months’ jail and a fine of BND1,000. Failure to pay the fine will result in five months of imprisonment.

Meanwhile Muhammad Rizal Irfanudin, 27, who also overstayed in the country, was sentenced to four months in prison and three strokes of the cane. – Borneo Bulletin/ANN
