Magnitude 6.6 earthquake rattles Davao Occidental


MANILA (Philippine Daily Inquirer/Asia News Network): A 6.6-magnitude earthquake shook Davao Occidental on Tuesday (Sept 26), the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.

The tectonic quake hit Balut Island in the municipality of Sarangani at 9:39am. Phivolcs said the temblor occurred at a depth of 122km.

Phivolcs also said aftershocks maybe expected.
