HONG KONG (Bloomberg): Hong Kong was starting to feel the impact of Super Typhoon Saola as winds reached hurricane force and rain lashed the city.

The government raised the No. 9 storm signal - the second highest - at 6.20pm. That’s the first time in three years such a warning has been issued. The Hong Kong Observatory will assess the need for issuing the Hurricane Signal No. 10, depending on the local wind changes, it said.
