Root runs riot for England in fifth Ashes Test

LONDON (AFP): Joe Root scored an outstanding fifty as England stepped up their blistering run-spree against Australia in the fifth Ashes Test at The Oval on Saturday. At present time, Root had already hit a t3 and not out.

England, in a match they have to win to square the series at 2-2, were 265-4 in their second innings at tea on the third day -- an imposing lead of 253 runs.
