MANILA (Xinhua): The World Bank has announced that it has approved a US$600 million loan to boost rural infrastructure and market access of farmers and fisherfolk in the Philippines.
The multilateral lender said the project is an expansion of a rural development project, launched in 2014, that has reached almost 633,000 Filipino farmers, raised incomes, and improved market connectivity by constructing roads, bridges, and post-harvest facilities.
