Phuket switches focus to becoming medical hub after losing international expo bid

PHUKET (The Nation/Asia News Network): After failing to win its bid to host the Specialised Expo 2028, Phuket will now turn its attention to promoting itself as an international medical hub, spokesperson Anucha Burapachaisri said on Wednesday (June 21).

Thailand launched its bid for Phuket to host the 2028 Specialised Expo in Paris in June last year, highlighting the southern island’s suitability around the theme “Future of Life: Living in Harmony, Sharing Prosperity”.
