Jeju Island population declining as young Koreans leave to seek jobs

SEOUL (The Korea Herald/Asia News Network): The population in Jeju has been shrinking, as young people leave the southern resort island in search of jobs.

As of May, 677,057 Korean citizens were registered as residents on the island. This is a dip from 678,159 in December 2022, according to the nation’s population registry released by the Ministry of Public Administration and Security on Wednesday (June 7).
