YANGON, April 10 (Eleven Media Group/ANN): Myanmar's Sagaing Region Myanmar Drug Control Central Committee (CCDAC MYANMAR) has announced that 1.1 billion kyat (RM2.3 million) worth of heroin was seized in Kale City during spoecial drug operation.
In the process of the drug seizure, a joint team consisting of the anti-narcotics police, Sagaing Region, make the drug-bust breakthrough at the venue at around 1.30pm on April 6th.
According to the local reports, the home of Tun Naing Oo in Chanmong Aung San Ward was searched and heroin weighing 11 kg was seized with 1,100 soap cups.
Then, according to the investigation, at around 4:30pm, a person named Tt Zaw who had come to hand over the heroin was arrested at the Kale-Tamu car yard in Chanmong Aung San Ward, along with the Hiace vehicle carrying the drugs.
After that, according to the chain of investigation, at about 5:00pm, Yanpain Htay in Chanmong Aungsan Ward was arrested in his home with 1100 soap cups and 11 kilos of heroin, and 22 kilos of heroin with a total regional value of 1.1 billion kyats were seized, according to the statement.
CCDAC MYANMAR reported that the seized heroin was being transported to the suspect from Mandalay, and legal action has been taken against those caught and the chain is being investigated. - Eleven Media Group/ANN
