Cambodia, Dominica sign visa-free deal for diplomatic, official passport holders

PHNOM PENH, March 25 (Xinhua): Cambodia and Dominica have signed an agreement on the exemption of visa requirements for diplomatic and service passport holders, the Cambodian foreign ministry said in a press statement on Saturday.

The deal was inked on March 23 between Cambodia's Acting Foreign Minister Ouch Borith and Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Business, Trade and Energy of the Commonwealth of Dominica Vince Henderson during the latter's visit to Cambodia on March 23 and March 24, the statement said.

The statement said prior to the signing ceremony, both sides held a meeting to discuss ways to unlock potential in trade and investment, agriculture, technical and vocational training, ecotourism and hospitality.

"They agreed in principle to explore a possibility of creating a bilateral consultation mechanism between the two foreign ministries, and agreed to mutual support at multilateral fora, particularly the United Nations system," the statement said.

On Friday, Henderson also paid a courtesy call upon Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen at the Peace Palace, during which Hun Sen welcomed the signing of the visa-waiver agreement for diplomatic and service passport holders, the statement said. - Xinhua
