YANGON (Xinhua): The 58th Gems Emporium of Myanmar concluded in the capital city of Naypyidaw on Thursday (March 23), the state-run television channel MRTV reported.

A total of 290 pearl lots, 77 gem lots and 1,544 jade lots were sold during the seven-day event, the report said.

The emporium has placed a total of 295 pearl lots, 120 gem lots and 2,150 jade lots on sale under an open tender system during the event.

The exhibition is aimed at getting foreign currency income and obtaining economic benefits for the citizens, it said.

The country held its 57th Gems Emporium in Naypyidaw in April last year.

The gems emporium, sponsored by Myanmar's Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation, has been held since 1946.
